Extended bearing distance gearboxes
18 May, 2009 | SEW-Eurodrive Pty Ltd
SEW-Eurodrive has introduced a family of locally assembled gear units. Featuring an extended bearing distance (EBD), the EBD MC Compact series helical and helical-bevel gear units have been engineered to absorb the high bending moments and axial forces that occur in mixer and agitator applications. The EBD MC Compact range is fully assembled in Australia, ensuring SEW-Eurodrive can provide fast turnaround on complete gear-unit packages.
Magneto-resistive encoder
18 May, 2009 | M Rutty & Co Pty Ltd
The MR2 magneto-resistive encoder is designed as a positioning and speed control solution for medical, security and access, industrial automation and electronics assembly related applications. For machine builders in these industries, a system design can be implemented with a lower line count of 128 lines for first-generation products and upgraded to a higher resolution line count of 512 lines for future-generation products, without any motor-encoder assembly change.

40 A power supplies
11 May, 2009 | Siemens Ltd
Siemens has added a compact 40 A basic unit to its Sitop modular power supply series. It is 150 mm wide, which is 90 mm narrower than the previous unit. The 20 A power supply has also been renewed and is now 70 mm wide. The two Sitop PSU300M standard mounting rail power supplies for connection to three-phase 400-500 VAC networks now have a wider range input (from 320 to 575 VAC) than previous versions and they provide a reliable 24 V supply even when there are large deviations in the mains supply. The user now simply evaluates the ‘DC 24 V OK’ operating mode via an integrated dry signalling contact.
Eco-footprint management tool
11 May, 2009 | IFS Australia
IFS has launched its Eco-footprint Management tool to provide organisations with control and transparency on the environmental impact of their operations. The tool offers customers an enterprise standard methodology to help them control costs and meet the need to prepare for compliance with environmental legislation.
Wireless distributed I/O
11 May, 2009 | Siemens Ltd
Simatic ET 200pro IWLAN is a distributed I/O system from Siemens which communicates directly via industrial wireless LAN (IWLAN). The 154-6 PN HF IWLAN interface module for Simatic ET 200pro wirelessly integrates the distributed I/O system into the automation network. It is designed for harsh industrial environments with a high degree of protection (IP65/66/67) for use directly on the machine. Typical application areas where this is advantageous include overhead monorail conveyors, automatic guided vehicles and warehouse logistics. The user can choose expansion modules for Simatic ET 200pro IWLAN as usual from the range of Simatic ET 200pro modules.
