Inline water quality monitoring in distribution pipelines
01 April, 2009 | Westwater Enterprises
The Intellisonde multi-parameter monitoring system is a measuring device designed for direct insertion into potable water pipeline distribution networks, providing benefits including: continuous water quality monitoring within the distribution system; integration into a water utility data collection system such as SCADA; providing real-time and historical data — both alphanumeric and graphical; assistance with compliance and regulatory requirements; analysis of the distribution network; and minimising risk of contamination posed by bursts and repairs.
Profinet cordsets
01 April, 2009 | Turck Australia Pty Ltd
Turck has introduced a 4-wire Profinet cordset line that has been developed to provide plug-and-play connectivity for applications using Profinet protocols. Profinet, the fastest industrial ethernet I/O network, is compatible with existing fieldbus systems and the only network that can accomplish a line topology — especially suitable for long conveyor systems. These cordsets connect to Turck’s BL67 ethernet gateways for Profinet — which can be connected to up to 32 I/O modules per gateway — to allow smooth integration into current fieldbus structures.
1312/1392 shear-web tension/compression load cells
01 April, 2009 | Bestech Australia Pty Ltd
The model 1312/1392 shear-web tension/compression load cells from BCM Sensor are alloy steel (1312) and stainless steel (1392) load cells with protection up to an IP66 standard. The 1312 is also nickel plated. They can measure in either tension or compression, and applications for these load cells include hopper scales and vehicles scales.
Rotary vane actuators
01 April, 2009 | Pneumatic Products
The VRX rotary vane actuators from Tolomatic deliver up to 54.7 Nm of torque at 100 psi (6.9 bar) and can withstand high axial loads of up to 102 N. These pneumatically operated rotary vane actuators are designed for use in material handling, part feeding and clamping, pick-and-place operations, cutting and many other industrial automation applications requiring rotary motion.
Infrared camera for fugitive emission detection
01 April, 2009 | Teledyne FLIR
The GasFindIR LW is capable of rapid scanning delivering real-time thermal images of gas leaks, including dangerous greenhouse gases such as sulfur hexafluoride (SF6). The leaks stand out allowing thermographers to ‘see’ the fugitive gas emissions.
Temperature switch with rotating set-up dials
01 April, 2009 | ifm efector pty ltd
The compact TK series switch and its 316 stainless steel RTD probe measure only 72 mm and the probe is directly mounted into a pipe. Two mechanical set-up dials rotate to quickly establish the setpoint and resetpoint temperatures. The switch’s high accuracy ensures that the setpoint does not drift and calibration is not required.
Colour and gloss sensor
01 April, 2009 | Applied Measurement Australia
The SI-Colo-GD-40 sensor from Sensor Instruments allows both simultaneous and outside-light-independent detection of colour and gloss value. The colour value x,y and the grey value INT are determined by way of the integrated RGB detector.
Cat 5e flexible cables
01 April, 2009 | Belden Australia Pty Ltd
Belden has introduced the category 5e DataTuff SI7938A shielded twisted pair continuous flex cable for use in continuous motion machinery, such as C-Track and festoon systems, as well as robotics frequently used in discrete manufacturing and automated assembly lines. It features a flexible, stranded and shielded construction to resist machine and plant floor vibration, along with high noise immunity.
ECW-281-Atom embedded computer
01 April, 2009 | Tekdis
The ECW-281-Atom is a 1.6 GHz fanless embedded system housed in a 132 x 229 x 64 mm package.
Advantech IPPC-7158B Panel PC
01 April, 2009 | Advantech Australia Pty Ltd
The IPPC-7158B is a 15” industrial panel PC with a 15” XGA TFT LCD. It features a passive backplane with up to 12 ISA/PCI expansion slots, a front-accessible design with water-resistant cover, a flat-sealed front panel, and can be bundled with high-performance PICMG 1.0 Core2 Quad/Dual or Pentium 4 single board computer (SBC). An aluminium detachable side-open front panel (NEMA4/IP65 compliant) allows for easy installation and maintenance.
APC Technology panel PCs
01 April, 2009 | APC Technology
APC Technology’s range of rugged industrial panel PCs and displays use the latest industrial-grade components, touch-screen technologies and sunlight readable displays to provide a rugged, reliable, customisable solution to suit specific requirements. Environments include production and assembly lines, hose down areas and food production.
Trio differential pressure transmitter
01 April, 2009 | Motion Technologies Pty Ltd
The Trio MC464 can support up to 64 axes of motion in a unit the size of a small book. The MC464’s digital drive interface provides a plug-and-play connection between the motion controller and various digital drives. This significantly reduces wiring while providing a much higher axis count compared to what is available in comparable motion controllers.
Transmitter trip-amplifier
01 April, 2009 | Weidmuller Pty Ltd
The Wave TTA Transmitter Trip-Amplifier is programmable to suit any common DC input type.
Compact ultrasonic sensor
01 April, 2009 | Turck Australia Pty Ltd
Turck has introduced an ultrasonic sensor in a compact Q12 style housing that achieves a 40 cm sensing range with a small 2.5 cm blind zone. The small profile of the sensor allows it to be mounted in narrow spaces, like those found in packaging applications.
Digital pressure gauges
01 April, 2009 | AMS Instrumentation & Calibration Pty Ltd
The Noshok 1000 series digital pressure gauge features an integrated battery with up to 4000 h of battery life, eliminating the necessity of fixed power supplies.
