Baldor has announced an expanded size range and multiple configurations for the Dodge MagnaGear XTR reducer. The reducer is designed for reliability, ease of maintenance and high performance in tough, high-torque applications.

The MagnaGear XTR reducers’ simple powerdense design offers torque ratings from 11,000 to 104,000 Nm, assuring increased power in a more compact, economical, heavy-duty package. With this torque range, the reducers will accommodate horsepowers of over 18.5 MW.

Utilising a modular design, the reducers are available in parallel shaft or right-angle configurations. Sizes 390k and below offer a solid or hollow shaft output. Sizes 525k and above include solid shaft output. The hollow shaft option features a twin-tapered bushing system, which minimises wobble for longer life and is also easy to install and remove.

The reducers also come in several mounting configurations including swing-base and tunnel housings to suit particular applications. The universal housing reversible mounting gives the option of right-or left-hand mounting for flexibility and minimising spares. This cast-iron reducer features gearing that is carburised, hardened and precision ground. The highest quality, tandem HBNR lip seals are standard for extra protection, all bearings exceed AGMA standards for L10 life and all components are power matched for optimum performance at a lower installed cost.

Engineered to perform in the toughest conditions, the Dodge MagnaGear XTR is suitable for bulk material handling in dirty, dusty, harsh environments found in the mining industry.
