Moxa NPort S8455I-MM-SC ethernet serial device server

22 January, 2010

Moxa has released the NPort S8455I-MM-SC, which combines an ethernet switch and serial device server in a single solution with two fibre ethernet ports, three ethernet ports and four RS-232/422/485 serial ports. This design allows users to save cabinet space and reduce overall power consumption and costs since there is no need to purchase separate switches and serial device server products.

Westermo Wolverine 200-series ethernet extenders

13 November, 2009 by

The Wolverine ethernet extender series from Westermo has been enhanced with Class 1, Division 2 approval. This allows the Wolverine series to be installed in hazardous or potentially explosive environments containing flammable vapours and gases.

CAN interface boards

26 October, 2009 by

The CP-602E-I, CP-602U-I and CB-602I are 2-port CAN interface boards designed to provide host computers with CAN ports through the PCI Express, Universal PCI, or PC/104 interfaces. In addition to supporting reliable communications, these boards come with 2 kV isolation protection to shield host computers from potentially damaging electrical spikes. All three models support a wide operating temperature range from -40 to 85 °C, making them suitable for use in critical applications.

Ethernet-to-serial converter

26 October, 2009 by

The JS100 ethernet-to-serial converter is designed to allow communications over point-to-point and point-to-multipoint radio channels with remote devices, such as RTUs or PLCs that have ethernet data ports.

Modbus TCP to Profibus SE gateway

30 July, 2009

ProSoft Technology has released the 5204SE-MNET-PDPMV1 Modbus TCP to Profibus SE gateway, designed with special features to better support and easily integrate with Schneider Electric Modicon M340 processors.

30 July, 2009

Siemens has developed two communications processors for connecting PCs and S7-300 controllers to Profibus and industrial ethernet.

1U serial device servers

09 June, 2009 by

The EKI-1528 and EKI-1526 serial device servers feature 8 and 16 RS232/422/485 serial ports in a 1U rackmount chassis.

Westermo ethernet extender

14 March, 2009

Westermo has released a high-speed industrial ethernet extender. The DDW-120 utilises SHDSL transmission technology, allowing existing twisted pair cables to be used to establish a high-speed remote connection between two ethernet networks. With transfer rates up to 5.7 Mbps and an operating distance of up to 15 km at lower data rates, this is an easy-to-install alternative to fibre-optic or radio systems when linking remote ethernet networks.

DeviceNet gateway

14 March, 2009 by

Turck has expanded its line of BL20 economy modules with the release of a DeviceNet gateway. This addition augments Turck’s current PROFIBUS-DP and CANopen gateways for the BL20 economy system.

Serial device servers

08 August, 2008

The EKI-1521 and EKI-1522 serial device servers allow RS232/422/485 serial devices to be remotely monitored, managed and controlled over ethernet and internet protocol (IP) networks. Equipped with dual 10/100Base-Tx ethernet ports, these devices ensure data transmission even in the event of a network link failure.

Peer-to-peer ethernet I/O modules

08 July, 2008

A firmware enhancement for the ADAM-6000 ethernet I/O modules adds advanced peer-to-peer (P2P) and graphic condition logic (GCL) functionality.
