Friday, 29 October, 2010 | Supplied by: Soanar Limited

ORing-Networking has upgraded the IDS-5000 series industrial device servers. The devices can be used to connect RS232/422/485 serial devices, such as PLCs, sensors, card readers, meters, motors and drives in industrial environments.

The device servers are designed to be cost effective, rugged and user friendly, making simple and reliable serial to ethernet solutions possible. In addition, the Windows utility, DS-Tool, can be used to configure multiple devices and set up the virtual serial mappings.

NAT router passthrough, DDNS and PPPoE make it possible to configure the device servers through NAT routers from different IP domains or the internet remotely via modem remotely.

The series can also simultaneously transfer data with up to five redundant host PCs to avoid ethernet connection breakdown or any host PC failures. The device features HTTPS, SSH and SSL encryption to assure the security of critical data transmission.
