Digital-to-analog video stream decoder

17 December, 2007 | CrispTech Pty Ltd

The VPort D351 is a 1-channel industrial video decoder that can rapidly decode network video and audio streams from Moxa's VPort series of video encoders and IP cameras, and then send the analog signals back to traditional CCTV equipment. The decoder is designed to link to standard analog CCTV devices, such as the monitors, multiplexers and matrix switches used in many surveillance applications. Users can easily bridge existing analog video surveillance systems to a Moxa IP-based video surveillance network. In addition, a bi-directional audio function enables real-time voice over IP communication between Moxa's industrial video encoder and decoder, and the transparent PTZ control allows instant control of remote PTZ controllers at the control site.

IDC-based power connection

17 December, 2007 | Weidmuller Pty Ltd

The FieldPower product concept is based on the PowerBox, which is used to contact 5-pole power cables ranging from 2.5 to 6 mm2. The PowerBox integrates the following functions in a single module: power supply, extension, outgoing motor feeder and distribution. The PowerBox is mounted at any point within the plant with the continuous, uncut cable placed inside. Thanks to colour coding this is done quickly and without errors. Round and/or flat cables can be utilised. Using a sheath stripping tool, the cables are partially stripped and the individual cores are placed into the base module of the connection block and the contact unit snapped shut. Using a screwdriver, the contact element is simply closed downwards in a 90° movement. This creates a safe and reliable contact for distributing 400 V of power. The connection is made utilising IDC connection technology.

Thermal imager with data logging

17 December, 2007 | Emona Instruments Pty Ltd

The HotShot thermal imaging cameras from Electrophysics Corp have an in-built PDA type touch screen and Qwerty keyboard for data entry and data logging functions.

TDI the least complex of any gauging system

17 December, 2007 | TME Systems

With NDC Infrared every sensor and every scanning frame comes with its own built-in intelligence for higher speed and greater accuracy in measurement. This distributed intelligence is achieved by a state-of-the-art processing engine called a D-BRIC. Each D-BRIC is smaller than 4 x 6" (10 x 15 cm), yet powerful enough to run an entire gauging system on its own.

Wastewater analyser

17 December, 2007 | Endress+Hauser Australia Pty Ltd

Endress+Hauser have launched an inline analyser for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants. The new STIP-scan device overcomes the costly sampling and maintenance procedures required by historical 'cabinet analysers' since it operates directly in the process.

Industrial 3G/NextG modem

17 December, 2007 | Paqworks

The Cybertec Series 1000 modem/router has been designed to provide a flexible and reliable communications platform for interfacing with both serial and ethernet enabled devices using 3G/HSDPA cellular data networks. The Series 1000 is the solution for use in remote SCADA applications where CDMA coverage will no longer be available.

VLT direct mounting system

17 December, 2007 | Danfoss (Australia) Pty Ltd

Danfoss has released a system for mounting its VLT Decentral FCD drive equipment directly on conveyors or machines. Mounting is now possible without using the present mounting 'ears' on top and bottom.

Discrete-event simulator

17 December, 2007 | MathWorks Australia

The MathWorks has introduced SimEvents 2, which now supports the modelling of complex discrete-event and hybrid dynamic systems across the Simulink family of products.

Wireless starter kit

17 December, 2007 | Emerson Automation Solutions

Emerson Process Management has announced the introduction of the Wireless SmartPack Starter Kit, a configurable suite of wireless technologies and services giving users a risk-free way to practical experience with wireless technologies in their own facilities. Emerson's SmartPack comes pre-configured out of the box to immediately form a secure, robust self-organising wireless network which customers can apply to gain experience with wireless without committing their infrastructure.

Human management interface

17 December, 2007 | FA Controls Sdn Bhd

The PV series from MyTek is an HMI equipped for various applications. Display sizes from 3.7 to 12.1" are available, and it can be used with most popular programmable logic controllers, inverters, temperature controller etc. With a rugged plastic housing and IP65-rated front panel, the PV series can be used in most harsh environments. The hardware features include a built-in ethernet port, a USB port, a serial interface, a parallel interface, a CF slot, real-time clock and an optional Profibus extension port. The HMI comes with a touch or keypad type screen and consists of a 32 bit RISC processor with the option of a CCFL backlight/LED backlight/Colour TFT LCD screen.

Glandless spool

11 December, 2007 | IMI Precision Engineering

Most pneumatic solenoid valve manufacturers provide solenoid valves with nitrile seals. The seals are either in the form of O-rings, disc seals or bonded to the spool then surface ground. Over the years, nitrile seals have proved satisfactory. In addition to nitrile (soft seal) valve ranges, Norgren produces a range of ISO Standard valves with 'glandless spool' technology. The glandless valves use a hardened anodised teflon-coated spool and sleeve. The glandless spool and sleeve have no dynamic seals. The spool operates on an air bearing principle that offers several benefits over conventional nitrile soft seal valves. The spool and sleeve are hardened to 62-70 Rockwell C.

Piston pump with increased capacity

11 December, 2007 | K-One Fluid Power

The B series has been added to Kawasaki's K3VL series of piston pumps. It offers decreases in noise emissions and increased control options which provide faster reaction times, at the same time maintaining precise hysteresis and stability. The series has an increased capacity range with the addition of a 200 cc pump to the K3VL range. The series is suitable for agricultural, industrial, mining and mobile remote area applications.
