Liquid density measuring system

15 March, 2009 | TRE Associates

TRE Measurements has announced a liquid density measurement system for applications requiring accurate measurement of the specific gravity of mixtures of water and alcohol.

Image sensor

15 March, 2009 | Micromax Pty Ltd

Banner Engineering has introduced the iVu series image sensor, combining a photoelectric sensor and a vision sensor in one unit. The iVu also features a 68.5 mm LCD touch screen with an intuitive interface and easily configurable inspection parameters. This allows even first-time users to quickly and conveniently apply and support inspections right on the factory floor, without the use of a PC.

Pressure controllers and gauges

15 March, 2009 | CMC Technologies Pty Ltd

The Series A3 digital differential pressure controller is a microprocessor-based pressure controller for positive, negative and differential pressure as well as velocity and flow. The Series A3 differential pressure controller includes two 8A SPDT relays and an associated software package that allows full configuration of variables such as set points, dead band, engineering units and flow coefficients. The programming is done from a user-friendly menu on the LCD or uploaded using an Opti Link programming key. The LCD also displays the exact set points or other user-defined variables during normal operation. The menu structure can be customised by moving variables to different menu levels to accommodate many applications.

Plug-in machine controller

15 March, 2009 | Baldor Australia Pty Ltd

The Mint Machine Module plugs into a hardware expansion slot in any of Baldor’s MotiFlex range of Powerlink-compatible three-phase AC motor drives. This controller module allows machine builders to eliminate the need for a separate external network controller, along with all of the cabling and panel space that would normally be required.

Silo level measurement

15 March, 2009 | Endress+Hauser Australia Pty Ltd

The Silopilot FMM20 is an electromechanical level measuring device featuring an uncomplicated but rugged construction that is unaffected by silo geometry, dust, temperature, low dielectric values and static electricity. The simple-to-operate Silopilot FMM20 is suitable for use in bunkers and silos holding light bulk solids such as wheat, plastic granules and powder.

Colour vision sensor

15 March, 2009 | Omron Electronics Pty Ltd

The FZ3 colour vision sensor, providing true colour technology, high dynamic range and five million pixels resolution, is designed to make it possible to automate inspection of low-contrast colour objects at high speed with reliable results. Omron’s Advanced Real Color Sensing (ARCS) engine captures and processes 16.77 million colours, approaching human colour perception, and is claimed to outperform systems that use monochrome or false-colour contrast conversion and analysis methods.

Linear actuator

15 March, 2009 | Pneumatic Products

The MXB-U belt-driven linear actuator from Tolomatic features an unguided carriage system that is capable of velocities of up to 500 cm/s and accelerations of up to 3000 cm/s2.

Thickness sensor for injection moulding

15 March, 2009 | TRE Associates

TRE Measurement and Kaman Sensors have developed a sensor that measures the thickness of plastic as it is being moulded. It can also measure the gap between the mould and the core during set-up to ensure proper position.

Capacitive sensor

14 March, 2009 | Turck Australia Pty Ltd

The BCF10 capacitive sensor’s small size makes it more flexible for mounting in level applications and it has the ability to detect liquids with high concentrations of chlorides, such as soaps and cleaners. Turck’s noise immunity technology has been retooled for a flat pack housing.

Brass bearing cages

14 March, 2009 | Statewide Bearings

NKE Austria has introduced solid brass bearing cages with an improved design. With their reduced mass, the cages cut the rolling bearings’ energy absorption and prevent sliding friction.

Belt-driven actuators

14 March, 2009 | Pneumatic Products

The MXB-P belt-driven linear actuators from Tolomatic feature a profiled rail guidance system that allows large moment loads, high-speed operation and high precision. With a carriage that employs THK Caged Ball bearings, the MXB-P linear actuator is capable of velocities of up to 3810 mm/s and accelerations of up to 30.48 m/s2. MXB-P belt-driven actuators are suitable for multi-axis applications such as test stations, product handling, laser marking, material cutting, adhesive dispensing or applications that require high linear velocities and accelerations, long stroke lengths and high duty cycles.

Robotic tool changer module

14 March, 2009 | Romheld Automation Pty Ltd

ATI-Industrial Automation has introduced a high-power tool changer electrical module that passes current up to 28 A, 500 VAC/700 VDC and includes Amphenol MS-style connectors and a protective earth safety ground. Other features include a fluid-resistant seal on the contacts and specially designed contact pins for low resistance.

Process optimisation solution for energy generation

14 March, 2009 | Honeywell Building Solutions

Honeywell Process Solutions has announced its Advanced Energy Solutions, a suite of process control, monitoring and optimisation applications designed specifically for industrial power-generation facilities.

DeviceNet gateway

14 March, 2009 | Turck Australia Pty Ltd

Turck has expanded its line of BL20 economy modules with the release of a DeviceNet gateway. This addition augments Turck’s current PROFIBUS-DP and CANopen gateways for the BL20 economy system.

VSD filter

14 March, 2009 | Westek Electronics Pty Ltd

The Schaffner FN 530 combination sine wave/EMC output filter for variable speed drives solves three important problems for motors as loads for variable speed drives. These are: high dv/dt pulses, common mode high-frequency components and RF radiation.
