The Raytek Pi20 thermal imaging camera has a full resolution of 320 x 240 pixels at 30 Hz and covers temperatures from -40 to 2000°C in two different models. Communications are via ethernet, with support for up to 16 cameras from one PC, and the Datatemp software allows for 64 AOI [areas of interest] to be defined with data recording, or control actions attached to each AOI. Analog and digital outputs are generated by I/O modules on the ethernet LAN, with functions being selectable during system configuration.

Originally developed for a major oil and gas company to monitor remote wells in North America, the Longwatch XLP Low Power Video Surveillance System is powered by solar cells and batteries. The system hibernates in a low-power standby mode until an external sensor, such as a motion detector or intrusion alarm, or a command from the central control room sends it a signal to wake up. The system immediately records a short video alarm clip, transmits it to a remote operator at a central HMI/SCADA system and continues to record video on its disk until commanded to return to hibernation.
