This pressure distribution film uses microscopic ink-filled capsules embedded in the surface of the film. The rupturing of the capsules is dependent on the amount and location of the pressure applied by the roller(s) to the film and, accordingly, to the web material. As the capsules rupture, they deposit a red trace on the film. The intensity of the trace indicates the location and distribution of the pressure applied to the web by the rollers. Therefore, the pressure film indicates if and where the roller(s) need to be corrected to improve the quality of the web material.
