The Sensorex S175CD spear tip piercing pH electrode is designed for food industry process and plant engineers in need of a durable, reliable penetration pH sensor for applications requiring sample piercing. It can be used for measuring the pH of semi-solid material samples such as meat, sausage and cheese.

In food processing, the measurement of pH determines acidity and alkalinity. The pH level in food products affects safety, quality, taste, shelf life, cost and other factors. The need for sampling of pH levels makes the S175CD electrode useful for semisolid foods that are more difficult to measure due to their texture.

The S175CD’s pH electrode features a rugged glass measuring spear-shaped tip, which is enclosed in a durable epoxy body. Its gel-filled, double-junction reference design provides protection from contaminating samples and provides extended service life if used with samples that interact with silver ions. An extended surface area semiporous PVDF (Kynar) thermoplastic provides the junction with sample contact.

The S175CD pH electrode features a measurement range of 0-14 pH, (Na+error >12.3 pH). It operates for excursions up to higher temperatures and has a pH response speed >90% in 5-7 s.

The S175CD spear tip piercing pH electrode is shipped in a soaking solution so that it is ready for immediate use and comes with a 76 cm cable, soaker storage bottle and a BNC connector. It is also compatible with many other connectors and can be used with most pH meters.
