Pump and fan drive

25 June, 2009 | ABB Australia Pty Ltd

ABB has announced a low-voltage AC drive, specifically targeted at pump and fan applications ranging from 0.37 to 22 kW. Built-in PID controllers are used to vary the drive’s performance in response to changes in pressure, flow or other external data, modifying the performance according to the needs of the application. This can eliminate the need for an external PLC and helps to save energy.

Shielded cordsets

25 June, 2009 | Turck Australia Pty Ltd

Turck is now offering the option to completely shield M8 picofast cordsets by connecting a braided shield directly to the coupling nut. This provides a cost-effective and reliable connection with 100% cable and connector shielding, which protects against electromagnetic and radio frequency interference.

DAQ thermocouple module

25 June, 2009 | National Instruments Aust Pty Ltd

National Instruments has announced the NI 9213, which adds high-density thermocouple measurements to the NI C Series platform. Using the NI 9213, engineers can create a compact, modular data acquisition system to collect data from up to 16 independent thermocouples.

Safety I/O module

25 June, 2009 | Rockwell Automation Australia

The Allen-Bradley Point Guard I/O module is a modular, 24 V DC I/O system that is designed to fit into the standard Point I/O system, offering both automation and safety functionality in a maximum-density I/O solution.

Profinet wireless module

25 June, 2009 | Siemens Ltd

The IM154-6 PN HF IWLAN Profinet-ready wireless interface module enables the higher IP rated ET200pro distributed I/O system to communicate via industrial wireless LAN.

Hyperspectral imaging sensors

25 June, 2009 | SciTech Pty Ltd

Headwall’s Hyperspec VIS family of integrated hyperspectral imaging sensors for the 380 to 825 nm spectral range are designed for spectral sensing and chemical imaging. Hyperspectral imaging is used for mission-critical applications ranging from process monitoring to moving webs of product across conveyor lines where precise colour measurement is critical to the application.

IECEx certified motors

25 June, 2009 | Baldor Australia Pty Ltd

Baldor has introduced a line of motors certified to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards within the IECEx Certified Equipment Scheme. This will allow the company to meet customer needs in the international market with motors that are designed and meet the requirements to be used in hazardous or explosive atmospheres.

Vibrating point level switch

25 June, 2009 | Siemens Ltd

Siemens has added the Sitrans LVS100 to its line of vibrating point level switches for high, low or demand levels of dry bulk solids in bins, silos or hoppers.

Industrial ethernet user guide

25 June, 2009 | Belden Australia Pty Ltd

Belden has announced its latest Industrial Ethernet User Guide, a 16-page brochure offering specific information about the dramatic performance differences between commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) ethernet components typically used in office environments and ruggedly built industrial-grade components.

Sensors for food and beverage

25 June, 2009 | SICK Pty Ltd

The V18V standard and MH15V short cylindrical photoelectric switches and the inductive sensors of the IMF series are characterised by enclosure ratings of IP69K according to DIN 40050, material resistance tested and certified by ECOLAB and JohnsonDiversey, and industry-oriented mounting and connection solutions. They are suitable for automation solutions for production, handling, packaging and filling of solids or liquids, as well as pharmaceutical products.

2D vision sensor with exchangeable lenses

25 June, 2009 | SICK Pty Ltd

The Inspector I20 is a 2D vision sensor with integrated lighting that allows easy replacement of optical lenses for different distances and fields of view while maintaining a high enclosure rating (IP67). This, together with integrated lighting, makes the Inspector I20 suitable for both end users and system integrators who want to solve a large number of different applications using only one kind of device.

Leadscrew range

25 June, 2009 | Motion Technologies Pty Ltd

Conti’s range of precision rolled leadscrews is now available.

Flare gas flowmeter

25 June, 2009 | AMS Instrumentation & Calibration Pty Ltd

The GF90 flare gas flowmeter from Fluid Components International is designed to solve the problem of measuring dangerous, explosive and toxic gases that often flow at extremely varying or low levels. It can measure waste gases of varying hydrocarbon composition down to a low 0.25 sfps for flare system disposal.

Fieldbus high-density power hub

25 June, 2009 | Pepperl+Fuchs (Aust) Pty Ltd

The FieldConnex fieldbus high-density power hub offers compact dimensions and needs only limited space inside the switching cabinet. Optimised circuits with low power loss result in cooler thermal conditions, which allow the positioning of the board in any direction. In comparison with the previous model, the available power supply current has increased from 360 to 500 mA per fieldbus segment.

Wireless discrete-input transmitters

25 June, 2009 | Honeywell Process Solutions

Honeywell has added two discrete-input transmitters to its family of XYR 6000 wireless devices. The STXW 500 and the STTW 401 transmitters can convert any measurement device with a contact-closure switch input into a wireless input, enabling manufacturers to decrease costs and improve efficiency by wirelessly monitoring more processes at their plants. The transmitters are suitable for applications such as wirelessly monitoring level switches, pump status and system alarms.
