The PA 15 photoelectric amplifier from Telco is a hybrid of the company’s PA 11 series and the more recent PAB 10 series.

The PA 15 is a single-channel manual photoelectric amplifier housed in an ultra-slim 22.5 mm Phoenix enclosure, which includes 4-pin removable connectors positioned on the side of the amplifier. The series offers 10-30 VDC and 24 VAC supply voltage with a choice between relay, NPN or PNP output. It operates in conjunction with remote sensors from the company’s 100, 110 and 120 series, enabling a high thru-beam sensing range of up to 70 m.

The amplifier offers manual sensitivity adjustment through an integral potentiometer located on the front panel of the amplifier. Output can be selected from either a relay or transistor output, with or without an adjustable 0-10 s on/off time delay. Light or dark function and long or short range are switch selectable. The microprocessor-controlled sensor test ensures that the system will automatically detect and indicate a faulty transmitter or receiver, cable break or electrical failure during operation, indicating issues via a failure LED located on the front panel.

The amplifier offers a test input, which is used for either disabling or enabling the transmitting power temporarily for test purposes. The amplifier includes an alarm output, which is used to indicate if the signal level is insufficient or if a sensor is faulty.
