TR Electronic WPS encoder cable pull mechanism

The WPS cable pull mechanism for the C__582 series rotary encoders from TR Electronic is designed to permit precise position measurement over long distances. The mechanism has been specifically reduced in size and offers optional IP67 protection for use in harsh environmental conditions.

The compact integration of a genuine multiturn encoder directly into the cable pull mechanism has significantly reduced the installation space required. Installation on machines is flexible: the direction of the data and supply cables can be customised to suit requirements. Grooves for slotted nuts on three sides of the housing and additional holes in the drum housing provide simple and stable mounting.

The WPS cable pull mechanism is fully integrated into the C__582 range, providing industrial Ethernet capability via Profinet, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP or Powerlink; fieldbus capability via CANopen, Profibus and Interbus; and point-to-point connectivity with SSI, analog, parallel, RS485, IO-Link and DRIVECLIQ.

Application-specific connector arrangements (radial or axial) are also available. Synchronised position detection and extended encoder data for machine monitoring and Industry 4.0 round out the package.
