In industrial processes with a high degree of automation, colour is often a selection criterion for the recognition, sorting or checking of different goods. The colour of the products themselves as well as of packaging, labels or imprints can be precisely detected using electronic colour sensors. A high switching frequency of 2000 Hz allows the ifm efector colour sensor to reliably detect different objects in industrial processes.

The unit is set to the colour to be detected with one push of the button. With five selectable tolerances, even the slightest differences in colour shades, as compared to the background or other objects, can be distinguished. The auto-detect output stage automatically sets the switching output of the sensor to PNP or NPN operation.
