Pacific Automation achieves Weidmüller ProPartner status: A milestone for WA industry

Pacific Automation has been officially recognised as a Weidmüller ProPartner, marking 17 years of collaboration to bring industrial connectivity, automation, and power solutions to businesses across Western Australia.
This recognition reflects more than just longevity, it represents a sustained, practical partnership built on trust, product reliability, and a deep understanding of local industry requirements.
A partnership built over 17 years
The relationship between Pacific Automation and Weidmüller began in 2008, during a period of rapid growth in WA’s energy and manufacturing sectors. These industries needed high-quality, dependable components that could meet demanding operational standards, along with support from a team that understood the unique challenges of working in Western Australia.
From the outset, the goal was clear: match Weidmüller’s proven technology with Pacific Automation’s local presence and knowledge. Over the years, this approach has evolved into a cornerstone of industrial support in the state.
Together, the two companies have delivered solutions ranging from everyday maintenance parts to complete, fully connected industrial systems, each aimed at helping businesses operate smarter, safer, and more efficiently.
“It’s recognition of a strong partnership that continues to evolve with industry needs,” said Stephen Armstrong, CEO, Pacific Automation.
What ProPartner status means for WA customers
ProPartner status is more than just a label. It is a mark of trust from Weidmüller, demonstrating that Pacific Automation meets the standards required for high-quality distribution, standards based on technical knowledge, product range, and service capability.
For WA businesses, this means several tangible benefits:
- Priority access to the latest Weidmüller innovations, so new technology can be implemented without delay.
- Greater stock availability, helping to minimise downtime by having critical components on hand.
- Specialised technical training for Pacific Automation staff, ensuring customers receive knowledgeable, up-to-date advice.
- Enhanced project support from start to finish, covering design, supply, and delivery.
Being a Weidmüller ProPartner in Western Australia makes Pacific Automation a go-to source for businesses seeking Weidmüller products in the region, providing confidence that support and supply are close at hand.
Innovation in action
Weidmüller continues to produce equipment designed for efficiency, safety, and connectivity, with a focus on the needs of diverse industrial environments.
Some recent examples of these solutions include:
- CRIMPFIX ECO: A fully automated, all-electric crimping system for faster, more consistent cable preparation
- W2C/W2T terminal blocks: Wiring flexibility for a broad range of industrial applications
-
PRO ECO II power supply: Compact, high-efficiency power management designed for space-constrained installations.
Each of these products supports WA industries in adopting technology that is straightforward to maintain, reduces operational interruptions, and helps lower overall risk.
Why local support matters
Operating in Western Australia means dealing with challenges that can be very different from those in other parts of the country. Long distances, environmental extremes, and the critical nature of many operations mean local expertise and quick access to stock can make all the difference.
Pacific Automation’s Perth-based team offers:
- local product availability to help get operations back online quickly
- local technical support, reducing the need for unnecessary site visits and delays
- experience across multiple industries, including mining, energy, manufacturing, and food production.
Real-world impact
The benefits of the Pacific Automation–Weidmüller partnership can be seen in real applications across WA.
In a recent project, a remote site required a Tag In / Tag Out control system for heavy vehicles and personnel entering and exiting the grounds. The challenge was to integrate the system with automated boom gates and card readers, all while operating reliably in a remote location.
Pacific Automation supplied Advantech WISE-4060B modules to enable wireless communication between the gates and card readers. A custom Weidmüller junction box was built for the installation, designed to suit the site’s requirements. This junction box has since become part of Weidmüller’s regular product range.
The project also incorporated other Weidmüller components, including power supplies and terminals. The result was a safe, efficient access control solution, supported by products that are now proven for use in similar environments.
Looking ahead
With ProPartner status, Pacific Automation will continue to work closely with Weidmüller to bring the latest connected solutions to WA. This includes:
- expanding the product range available locally
- hosting live demonstrations to give customers hands-on experience with new technology
- continuing to educate businesses on the benefits of adopting smarter, safer, and more connected systems.
The aim is to ensure WA industries have access to the tools and support they need to maintain high levels of safety, efficiency, and reliability in their operations.
A limited-time celebration
To mark the achievement, Pacific Automation is offering:
- hands-on product demonstrations at the Perth showroom and events including IICA Bunbury on 17 September
- free system consultations to help match products to application needs
- limited-time offers on selected Weidmüller products.
This is an opportunity for businesses to see products in action, get expert advice, and take advantage of special pricing on key items.
