Surge protection devices

Weidmüller's PU I series of Class I surge protectors with varistor technology offers a discharge capacity of 12.5 kA (10/350 µs). The pluggable, self-monitoring surge voltage arresters are optionally available as 1-, 3-, or 4-pole versions and with optional remote signalling contacts.

The devices can be rotated through 180° to simplify installation to the RCD device with cross-connecting combs. This facilitates short-length PE connections. The series is distinguished by an extensive palette of product characteristics. For instance, a colour-coding system indicates 'degradation' of the surge arrester.

The surge voltage arresters are suitable for different earthing systems (TN/TT) and are tested to IEC 61643-1 and EN 61643-11. Designed for use in buildings classified in lightning protection zones III/IV, all PU I devices are simple to install in sub-distribution boards and electrical cabinets.
