Macherey-Nagel has released the PF-12 photometer, a lower-priced alternative to the more technically advanced 500 D. A development on the PF-11, the instrument works using different power sources, including mains, USB connection and 12 V car adapter. This makes the instrument suitable for use in both the laboratory or in the field.

Test results are stored and managed in a way that conforms to GLP requirements. Specialised software that is used to export the results is supplied with each instrument.

The PF-12 photometer is designed to be easy to use. No special training is required, and the intuitive user interface, with pre-programmed test and automatic wavelength adjustment, is easy to follow. The graphic display is large and can be read in sunlight.

The PF-12 is programmed to perform more than 100 tests, including COD, total-N, total-P, ammonium and other usual wastewater parameters. Users can also program the instrument to perform 10 methods of their own.

PF-12 photometers come in a carry case complete with software, batteries, test tubes, funnels, beakers, syringes, USB cables and calibration cuvettes, as standard. On request, custom kits can also be produced to customers’ specifications.
