ATEX approved in line junction boxes

With the advent of the Atex legislation, the need often arises to join sensor cables in hazardous areas. Conventional junction boxes are large, unwieldy and expensive particularly when used to join a single sensor with as few as two conductors to plant wiring.

To overcome this problem, Synatel has introduced a range of low cost ATEX approved in line junction boxes with five way connectors. Designated the Synatex range, the Synatex connectors are certified for 1D use making them suitable for use in continuous hazard (zone 20) applications.

The Synatex junction boxes have a rating of 250 V 10 A ac maximum making them suitable for many different hazardous area applications apart from their primary purposes as sensor connectors.

The connectors are supplied complete with Atex glands, washers and either mounting brackets or spring clips, screws and rawplugs and are small enough to be incorporated in existing trunking or cable runs.

The Synatex boxes are suitable for most types of sensor including capacitive and inductive proximity sensors, speed monitors, temperative sensors etc. With a maximum rating of 250 V 10 A ac the Synatex junction also has many other applications in hazardous areas.
