Non-contact torque sensor

10 November, 2009 | Metromatics Pty Ltd

Futek Advanced Sensor Technology has introduced an internally amplified rotary torque sensor. The sensor is a non-contact (slip-ring-free) rotary torque sensor, using inductance for power and output signals, and has a compact design and supports rotational speeds of up to 7000 rpm.

Ethernet physical media components

10 November, 2009 | Rockwell Automation Australia

Rockwell Automation has introduced an expanded range of industrial-grade ethernet physical media components. Specially engineered for high performance in harsh industrial environments, the expanded ethernet component range includes four- and two-pair cable varieties with RJ45 and/or M12 connectors, spools of cable, as well as a variety of accessories.

Instrumentation needle valve

10 November, 2009 | Parker (Aust) Pty Ltd

Parker Hannifin’s H-series half-inch instrumentation needle valve is designed to give plant engineers the means to improve reliability, and save both money and space, in process and instrumentation applications involving viscous and contaminated media.

Electric linear actuator

10 November, 2009 | Pneumatic Products

The integrated-motor actuator (IMA) from Tolomatic combines a servomotor with Tolomatic’s rod-style actuator in a compact package. The IMA’s integrated design provides higher dynamic performance by eliminating the need for separate motors, couplers, motor mounts, gearing and belts. The result is reduced component costs, assembly time and failure points.

Controllers with long-life contacts

10 November, 2009 | Cynebar

Watlow has developed its No-Arc technology that extends the life of relays. A No-Arc relay is a mechanical relay with arc suppression provided through the use of smart electronics. This technology reduces the amount of arcing across the relay contacts and has a life of more than four million cycles compared to relays without arc suppression that have a life of approximately 100,000 operations.

Flow sensor for dusty environments

10 November, 2009 | Pacific Rim Technical Services

Schmidt Technology has released the SS 20.500 flow sensor for chemical process applications in dusty environments.

Submersible pressure transmitters

10 November, 2009 | Turck Australia Pty Ltd

Turck has introduced the PT4500 and PT4510 submersible pressure transmitters, optimised for detecting the level of water or other media with similar density in challenging industrial environments - including in wastewater and irrigation systems, as well as tanks containing liquids such as gas and diesel.

Pneumatic motors

10 November, 2009 | Assembly Technologies Pty Ltd

Assembly Technologies has introduced a range of high-torque stainless steel pneumatic motors from Deprag. These sealed motors offer starting torques of over 600 Nm with a maximum weight of 4.7 kg and a maximum diameter of 63 mm.

Zener diode barriers

10 November, 2009 | Turck Australia Pty Ltd

Turck has introduced MZB series Zener diode barriers, designed to effectively limit excess energy before it reaches a hazardous area. The MZB barriers provide removable terminals within an efficient and space-saving design - with channels as small as 6.3 mm wide - to consume minimal panel space. Additionally, the MZB series features a bussed power feed and offers both relay and solid-state switch models.

Gantry-mounted robot

10 November, 2009 | ABB Australia Pty Ltd

ABB has launched its first robot combining the advantages of an articulated robot and a linear gantry for improved flexibility and cycle times.

ZigBee wireless sensor nodes

10 November, 2009 | Zigsense

The ZigSense line of wireless sensors utilises ZigBee mesh network technology as its core communications channel. Australian designed and made, ZigSense wireless nodes establish a self-healing network of spatially distributed sensors that cooperatively monitor physical and environmental conditions. Data can be transferred to standard SCADA, telemetry, PLC and HMI stations via a ZigSense communications gateway.

Gas mass flowmeter

10 November, 2009 | AMS Instrumentation & Calibration Pty Ltd

The GF90 gas mass flow meter from Fluid Components International is designed for gas measurement applications, such as chlorinated water disinfection systems. As a solid state meter, the GF90 is designed to measure extremely low flow rates, and it is constructed of materials that make it impervious to highly corrosive, wet chlorine gas. Materials of construction for wetted parts include Hastelloy C as an option.

LEO 3 digital manometer

10 November, 2009 | Bestech Australia Pty Ltd

The LEO 3 digital manometer, from Keller, is a microprocessor-based transmitter with digital double display for pressure (top display) and for the output signal (bottom display). The display is powered from the 4-20 mA current loop.

Interworld ACS-2663/2664 embedded PC controllers

10 November, 2009 | Interworld Electronics and Computer Industries

Interworld has added the ACS-2663 and ASC-2664 to its range of embedded PC controllers. The ACS-2663/2664 are designed to meets the demand for low power consumption standalone and blind node control PCs.

L5660-2R ultrasonic level transmitter

10 November, 2009 | OneTemp Pty Ltd

The SmartSonic-2TM model L5660-2R is a microprocessor-based ultrasonic 2-wire transmitter for the measurement of level, volume and/or flow in liquids and solids.
