The Allen-Bradley 42CA Series C is an improved and expanded line of 18 mm cylindrical photoelectric sensors. Featuring rapid 0.5 and 1 ms response times, these presence sensors are suitable for general-purpose and high-speed applications in the packaging, assembly and materials handling industries.

Five sensing modes are available in the Series C range - transmitted beam, polarised retroflective, background suppression, standard diffuse and retroflective modes.

Two new long-range models have also been added to the 42CA family; these are available in standard diffuse and retroflective modes. These two models boast long sensing ranges of 1000 and 7200 mm for the standard diffuse and retroflective modes respectively. With a quick response time of 0.5 ms, these sensors are a solution for high-throughput production lines.

The 42CA Series C cylindrical sensors also incorporate improved visual diagnostics. Two LED indicators provide a straightforward way to rapidly identify the status of power, output, unstable operation and short-circuit protection.

The design of the Series C sensors also utilises a flat lens configuration, which acts to minimise particulate and dust accumulation and to simplify lens cleaning if required. With enclosures rated to IP67, the 42CA Series C 18 mm cylindrical photoelectric sensors are self-contained sensors that incorporate simple installation with durability.
