Tuesday, 20 July, 2010 | Supplied by: Automated Control Pty Ltd

The ASM PRAS5 range of heavy-duty Hall effect sensors has a measuring range of 0-360° and sealing up to IP69K.

The range is available with either a stainless steel or aluminium housing that has been designed to allow the sensor to run continuously under demanding conditions. The PRAS5 incorporates Hall effect sensing technology and is available with a 10 mm output shaft or can be magnetically coupled via an independent magnet giving a non-contact measuring system. M8 fixings meet the heavy-duty installation requirements with a temperature capability from -40 to +120°C. The PRAS5 can be ordered in angular increments of 15° and the rugged design has been tested for 100 g/11 ms shock and 20 g vibration.

A wide range of electrical outputs is available including 0.5-10 V and 4-20 mA, along with a choice of CANBus outputs including CANopen and J1939.
