In August, Rockwell Automation will once again host its annual multiday, hands-on event focusing on the latest technologies to maximise assets and information across operations. The Rockwell Automation TechED event will be held from 22–24 August at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

With a variety of training settings, including hands-on labs, technical sessions and discussion forums, Rockwell Automation TechED will provide a venue for attendees to learn about the latest techniques and technologies to maximise their manufacturing and production operations.

“TechED provides a valuable forum to access the latest technologies and specialist knowledge, all in the one location and in a short space of time. This is particularly valuable in today’s fast-paced environment, where people often struggle to find the time to access this information,” said Matthew Treeby, commercial marketing manager, Rockwell Automation.

Designed for end users, system integrators, machine builders and Rockwell Automation PartnerNetwork members, attendees can experience the latest Rockwell Automation products and technologies in a classroom environment and network with people from a variety of industries.

“Providing global perspectives and insights, this year’s event will feature key global business managers for analytics, thin client technology, process and industrial hardware. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear about the latest directions for product developments and roadmap sessions,” explained Treeby.

More than 50 sessions are offered for all knowledge levels, from introductory courses through to advanced training with a key focus on new technologies to connect people, assets and data across the enterprise for increased productivity and profitability.

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the latest technologies utilising analytics, mobility, app platforms and the cloud. Numerous sessions will focus on IT/OT engineering and collaboration for industrial automation.

As in previous years, the Process Solutions User Group (PSUG) is a full-day event that will be held during the Rockwell Automation TechED event to provide a perspective on how to optimise process applications. The program includes new and upcoming DCS developments, best practice sharing by customers and the opportunity to interact directly with the Rockwell Automation global process team. PSUG will deliver the opportunity to gain insight and influence future product developments.

According to Dean Tresidder, software product manager, Rockwell Automation, “Attendees will have the opportunity to experience our latest-generation analytics and thin manager technology. They can experience firsthand how analytics can be used to transform data from smart, connected industrial assets into meaningful insights.”

Rockwell Automation TechED will feature the latest knowledge and advances on topics including scalable industrial analytics, operational data infrastructure and management, digital transformation, remote access and monitoring, and connected services and solutions.

The event will also feature presentations showcasing real-world application stories directly from companies implementing a variety of automation strategies and optimising their control systems and operations.

Rockwell Automation Encompass Product Partners, including Stratus and RF IDeas, will also be in attendance to demonstrate products in the areas of virtualisation and access control, respectively, which are complementary to the Rockwell Automation product offering.
