IICA Bunbury Technology Expo

The Institute of Instrumentation, Control and Automation runs expos all around Australia and will be holding one in Bunbury this year, on 3 May between 2 pm and 6:30 pm.

The IICA’s event in Bunbury provides an opportunity for industry professionals and local manufacturers to see the latest technology available in Australia from some of the world’s leading technology companies and to meet experts from various industries discussing the latest developments in instrumentation, control and automation.

Sponsoring the event will be ifm, Phoenix Contact and Weidmüller.

The event will also provide an opportunity for attendees to learn about the city’s thriving engineering industry and the various initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable development.

Bunbury, WA’s second city, is located in the South-West region of Western Australia and is known for its thriving engineering industry, which has seen significant growth in recent years. The city, with a population of over 35,000, has become a hub for various industries, including manufacturing, water, mining, food processing, engineering, agriculture, wine and viticulture production. The city’s strategic location, coupled with its skilled workforce and world-class infrastructure, has made it an attractive destination for businesses looking to establish a base in Western Australia.

With the state government’s commitment to regional innovation, Bunbury is poised to become a regional hub of advanced technology, a place where bright ideas can flourish and opportunities for the future industries and jobs of tomorrow will be created.

The local government has set up several programs including funding infrastructure projects, offering tax breaks and giving businesses access to training and education programs.

Sustainability is also important to Bunbury, which is clear from its many projects, such as reducing carbon emissions and promoting renewable energy. For example, the Bunbury Biomass Energy Plant, a $35 million project, is a joint venture between the City of Bunbury and the Australian Renewable Energy Agency. The plant uses organic waste to generate electricity and steam, reducing the city’s reliance on fossil fuels and carbon emissions.

All are welcome to attend including managers, electricians, engineers, maintenance managers, production planners, operations staff, instrument technicians, health and safety officers, apprentices and students.

The IICA Bunbury (WA) Technology Expo will be on 3 May at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre (BREC), The Cube, 2 Blair Street, Bunbury, WA 6230.
