13 February, 2012

A six-month project, completed by Ovivo Australia in just 12 weeks, has enabled two large beverage companies to increase their production capacity by 420%.

Sensorex DO6400 and DO6441 process dissolved oxygen sensors

31 December, 2011 by

The DO6400 and DO6441 process dissolved oxygen sensors from Sensorex are fast-response submersible galvanic sensors available with either a built-in 4-20 mA output signal capability for direct connection to a PLC or to a standard 4-20 mA transmitter and local display.

Mettler Toledo InPro 4850i inline pH electrode

21 December, 2011 by

The InPro 4850i inline pH electrode is designed specifically for the requirements of the chloralkali industry. The electrode incorporates a sodium-sensitive glass membrane that uses the brine present in chlorine production as a reference. This reference system is hermetically sealed, providing a barrier against oxidising agents.

Mettler Toledo ISM technology

07 November, 2011 by

ISM (Intelligent Sensor Management) technology from Mettler Toledo is designed to allow users of process analytical equipment to reduce the maintenance costs of loops, while increasing the safety of the production process. Sensors equipped with ISM are continuously monitored for defects and wear to anticipate failure before it happens.

Mettler Toledo M800 multichannel, multiparameter transmitter

04 November, 2011 by

The Mettler Toledo M800 is a multichannel, multiparameter analytical transmitter line. The series operates with Intelligent Sensor Management (ISM) sensors for pH/ORP, conductivity/resistivity, oxygen (dissolved as well as gas) and ozone. Up to four channels are available for measurement of any combination of the above parameters, plus inputs for flow.

Optimising wastewater treatment

27 August, 2011 by Endress+Hauser Australia Pty Ltd

Optimising the wastewater treatment process using analytical sensors with automated cleaning is a cost-effective way to reduce maintenance, improve efficiency and ensure measurement accuracy.

Sensorex TCS3020 toroidal inductive conductivity sensor

03 June, 2011 by

The TCS3020 toroidal inductive conductivity sensor provides non-contacting, inductive-type conductivity measurement over the range 0-1000 mS. As an inductive sensor, it is resistant to the corrosion, coating and fouling common to contacting conductivity sensors. The sensor is constructed from Noryl and has a wide solvent tolerance and temperature stability to 105°C, and can handle pressures up to 150 psig. It is submersible through use of the sensor’s 0.75 MNPT threads or can be installed inline using custom flow cell model FC95C. It includes a standard style ATC measuring element and a 6 m cable.

Sensorex S651CD and S656CD pH/ORP sensors

23 March, 2011 by

The S651CD submersible pH/ORP sensor from Sensorex adds a pH glass protection feature and acrylamide reference gel.

Burkert Element neutrino analytical transmitters

01 October, 2010 by

Element neutrino analytical transmitters are designed for use with different sensor types. The modular transmitters can be adapted to different applications and used for measuring pH, ORP or conductivity.

pH/ORP monitor

26 October, 2009 by

The TP4-PH monitor accepts two channels of pH/ORP input as well as a temperature input. Each channel can be individually configured to accept a pH electrode, an ORP electrode or a 4-20 mA analog input. This makes the TP4-PH suitable for those applications where multiple inputs need to be monitored and control applied.

Retractable sensor fitting

21 September, 2009 by

The Yokogawa PR10 is a retractable sensor fitting that offers a flexible approach to online liquid analytical measurements in a wide range of process industries, and has been designed for online applications where the sensor has to be removed safely without interrupting process continuity in anaerobic, toxic or pressurised environments. The PR10 is suited to pH, ORP, conductivity, inductive conductivity and dissolved oxygen measurements.

Chlorine-resistant pH and ORP electrodes

25 August, 2009

Amalgamated Instrument Co has released pH and ORP electrodes with replaceable cartridges and a chlorine-resistant PVC housing.

pH and ORP electrodes

14 August, 2009 by

Amalgamated Instrument Co has released its pH and ORP (redox) electrodes with replaceable cartridges with a chlorine-resistant PVC housing.

Maintaining pH electrodes

11 February, 2009 by John Immelman*

Process instrumentation technicians who implement good pH electrode maintenance regimes get more than just greater accuracy in pH measurement. They also benefit from a longer interval between cleaning cycles and extended productivity during a longer life cycle, significantly reducing running costs.

Desalination plant adopts unique instrument design

20 December, 2008

Among the Perth Seawater Desalination Plant’s numerous accolades are top awards for construction excellence and project management which it won earlier this year. At the heart of the plant is a sophisticated and future-proofed instrumentation and control strategy that has helped make the project a model for other desalination plants being considered — not only within Australia but also worldwide. This strategy also propelled the plant to a win in the recent Zenith Awards, where it won Best Automation Project 2007.
