19 November, 2007Pulsar's SludgeFinder sludge level monitor uses a self-cleaning acoustic sensor that sits under the liquid surface of a clarifier or sludge tank. An acoustic signal is bounced off the bottom of the tank and modulations in the returning signal are interpreted to provide a profile of the sludge in the tank.

17 October, 2007Endress+Hauser has released a high-temperature Soliphant M level limit switch for bulk solids to deliver reliable operation in sustained process conditions at temperatures up to 280°C, and for short periods, up to 300°C. This represents a significant advance on competitor products, which routinely fail at 250°C.
