Lumberg Automation 0942 UEM 612 Lion-Link fieldbus I/O module

31 October, 2011

The 0942 UEM 612 I/O module from Lumberg Automation is designed for use with the LioN-Link decentralised Fieldbus system. It fulfils protection class requirements IP67 and has four digital M12 slots with a higher limit on the output voltage, permitting 2 A per line and 6 A in total.

MooreHawke Route-Master fieldbus system

05 October, 2011

The MooreHawke Route-Master fieldbus system has a new ATEX approval (FM pending) as a redundant intrinsically safe fieldbus system permitting the connection of any mix of FISCO and Entity devices.

TÜV certifies Mechatrolink network safety protocol

20 September, 2011

TÜV Rheinland confirms that Mechatrolink satisfies the requirements of IEC61508 safety integrity level SIL3.

Phoenix Contact scalable fieldbus infrastructure solutions

18 September, 2011 by

Preconfigured field distribution boxes allow Profibus PA or Foundation fieldbus process devices to be directly connected in the field. The stainless steel or aluminium housing modules accommodate components that permit the connection and termination of the fieldbus trunk cable. Surge voltage protection and different shielding concepts can be subsequently added. Users can freely select which types and how many modular device couplers are connected, and can also expand these at a later date.

Beckhoff FC3121 and FC3122 Profibus PC fieldbus cards

17 September, 2011 by

The FC3121 and FC3122 Profibus PC fieldbus cards have a PCI Express interface, enabling the transmission of larger quantities of data. These fieldbus cards can also optionally be equipped with NOVRAM cards for the failsafe storage of data.

Profibus Association of Australia elects new chairman

13 September, 2011

The Profibus Association of Australia (PAA) elected a new committee at its recent 2011 AGM following the resignation of founding Chairman John Immelman.

Moore Industries HIX HART loop isolator

23 August, 2011

Boxer series BMM-101 single-port Modbus serial to TCP gateway

16 August, 2011 by

The Boxer series BMM-101 is a single-port Modbus gateway designed to integrate legacy Modbus ASCII/RTU serial devices into a Modbus TCP (ethernet) system. BMM-101 gateways support 10/100 Mbps ethernet and RS232/422/485 serial signalling. Both LAN and WAN communications are supported.

Beckhoff EL6631-0010 Profinet terminal for EtherCAT

19 July, 2011 by

Beckhoff is expanding its product range for the EtherCAT I/O system with the EL6631-0010 Profinet terminal which, as a gateway from EtherCAT to Profinet RT, connects two real-time ethernet bus systems with one another.

Pepperl+Fuchs intrinsically safe transmitter power supplies

07 July, 2011 by

Pepperl+Fuchs has released four transmitter power supplies for intrinsically safe applications up to SIL3. The transmitter power supplies for the K- and H-Systems have each been extended to include two additional modules that are designed for intrinsically safe applications up to SIL 3 according to EN61508. The advantage of these supplies is that only a single transmitter is required to construct an intrinsically safe signal circuit for SIL 3. Previously for SIL 3 this was only possible using two separate inputs, both of which had to be monitored for redundancy reasons. Internal diagnostic functions are also signalled via a single output and red LED, and prescribed test intervals can be extended for SIL 2 applications.

MooreHawke Trunksafe Fault-Tolerant Fieldbus System

29 June, 2011

The Trunksafe Fault-Tolerant Fieldbus System from MooreHawke protects against single points of failure.

Moore Industries HIM HART loop interface and monitor

28 April, 2011

The HIM HART loop interface and monitor helps to unlock the full potential of new and in-place smart HART multivariable transmitters and valves by allowing trusted smart devices to be left in place, while still taking advantage of the additional information they can provide.

Distributed I/O improves water treatment plant

03 April, 2011

In central New York State, recent upgrades at a municipal water plant have provided the means for operators to enhance their process for meeting the water quality needs of customers.

Balluff IO-Link analog plugs

21 March, 2011 by

In most typical industrial I/O applications, 90% of the I/O count is discrete, leaving 10% of the I/O as analog. Most engineers have cost-effective means to gather their discrete I/O, but the analog points add a level of difficulty.

Belden 0910 ASL 146 and 0910 ASL 438 AS-Interface modules

21 March, 2011 by

Belden has extended its Lumberg Automation products to include two new actuator/sensor interface (AS-Interface) modules with encapsulated PUR housing and high signal density.
