Its software option uses a WAN to flexibly integrate remote terminal units equipped with Simatic automation components into the installation’s central process visualisation system. These features facilitate easier system configuration - for example, in failsafe applications, leaner and more versatile topology architectures with multiple networked controllers, and higher plant availability.
Siemens Simatic ET 200S PM-E RO power module and function blocks
Siemens has launched its first Profienergy products: the Simatic ET 200S PM-E RO power module for the Simatic ET 200S High Feature distributed I/O system, and function blocks for Simatic controllers. The power module specifically switches off individual inputs and outputs of the Simatic ET 200S High Feature I/O system and disconnects their connected loads from the power supply.

Siemens has developed a heavy-duty weighfeeder for high capacities up to 800 TPH (tons per hour). The Sitrans WW300 weighfeeder is designed to provide consistent and accurate results in the control of continuous in-line weighing and feeding applications. Siemens X108PoE, X308-2M PoE and XR324-4M PoE ethernet switches
Siemens has fitted three of its industrial ethernet switches with power over ethernet (PoE) functionality in accordance with ethernet standard IEEE 802.3af. Depending on the scope and requirements of the application, the unmanaged switch X108PoE as well as the modular managed switches X308-2M PoE and XR324-4M PoE supply two, four or eight PoE-compatible terminal devices with data and power on a common line.

Siemens ECO RTG optimised control for gantry cranes
ECO RTG from Siemens is designed to provide improved control functions for the operation of rubber-tyred gantry cranes, based on the simulation of the load curve and the optimisation of the control of the diesel-electric hybrid drive. By storing braking energy in ultracapacitors when containers are lowered and by optimising the utilisation of energy, fuel consumption can be reduced by approximately 70%.
Siemens integrated safety functions for cranes
The Simotion D motion control system and Sinamics drive family feature integrated safety functionalities for fulfilling the requirements of Performance Level d of EN ISO 13849-1 or category 3 according to EN 954-1 as well as Safety Integrity Level 2 according to EN 61508/IEC62061.
Sinamics G150 Clean Power frequency converter
The Sinamics G150 Clean Power frequency converter from Siemens is designed to provide an energy-efficient drive with high power rating for fans, pumps and compressors or extruders, mixers and mills. The converter also reduces low-frequency harmonic effects on the system and thus fulfils the high requirements for current and voltage quality placed on mains supplies.
Failsafe controller gateway
Siemens has developed the Gateway CM104 TSAA, a migration solution for integrating Triconex failsafe controllers into Simatic PCS 7-based control systems. The Gateway enables existing systems to be expanded or modernised inexpensively and step by step.
SCADA software upgrade
Siemens has expanded its Simatic WinCC/Downtime Monitor and Simatic WinCC/DataMonitor software options for the Simatic WinCC V7 SCADA system.
Scalance ethernet switch
The Scalance X308-2M is an industrial-grade, compact gigabit ethernet switch featuring IT functions in addition to its industry functions. The modular, fanless design makes the unit flexible for use in many industrial applications. There are two slots for media modules allowing for various types of fibre-optic ports to be connected.
Simatic embedded and panel industrial PCs
The Simatic IPC427C compact Microbox PC, and the Simatic HMI IPC477C Panel PC, which comes with a human machine interface (HMI) panel, have been equipped with the 1.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

Vibrating point level switch
Siemens has added the Sitrans LVS100 to its line of vibrating point level switches for high, low or demand levels of dry bulk solids in bins, silos or hoppers.
Profinet wireless module
The IM154-6 PN HF IWLAN Profinet-ready wireless interface module enables the higher IP rated ET200pro distributed I/O system to communicate via industrial wireless LAN.
Basic touch-screen HMI panels
The Simatic HMI Basic Panels are designed for basic operator control and monitoring tasks. The KTP1000 Basic (10" display) and the TP1500 Basic (15" display) are the first devices of this product line available, followed by 4" and 6" monochrome models and a 6" colour version.
Siemens process control system
Siemens has released version 7.1 of its Simatic PCS 7 process control system, with additions relating to virtually all function areas.
40 A power supplies
Siemens has added a compact 40 A basic unit to its Sitop modular power supply series. It is 150 mm wide, which is 90 mm narrower than the previous unit. The 20 A power supply has also been renewed and is now 70 mm wide. The two Sitop PSU300M standard mounting rail power supplies for connection to three-phase 400-500 VAC networks now have a wider range input (from 320 to 575 VAC) than previous versions and they provide a reliable 24 V supply even when there are large deviations in the mains supply. The user now simply evaluates the ‘DC 24 V OK’ operating mode via an integrated dry signalling contact.
Compact Profinet block I/O
The compact block I/O modules with Profinet interface are an addition to the Siemens range of distributed I/O systems with a high degree of protection (IP65/67).
Wireless distributed I/O
Simatic ET 200pro IWLAN is a distributed I/O system from Siemens which communicates directly via industrial wireless LAN (IWLAN). The 154-6 PN HF IWLAN interface module for Simatic ET 200pro wirelessly integrates the distributed I/O system into the automation network. It is designed for harsh industrial environments with a high degree of protection (IP65/66/67) for use directly on the machine. Typical application areas where this is advantageous include overhead monorail conveyors, automatic guided vehicles and warehouse logistics. The user can choose expansion modules for Simatic ET 200pro IWLAN as usual from the range of Simatic ET 200pro modules.
Simatic combined active barrier and loop power supply
The Simatic human machine interface (HMI) device series now includes modular expansion units with IP65 protection. The new components in the design of the HMI devices are individually equipped for plant-specific operator control and monitoring tasks; for example, with illuminated pushbuttons, lamps, switches, USB ports or emergency stop buttons.
Scalance ethernet switches
The Scalance XB-000 range of unmanaged industrial ethernet switches have IP20 protection, and are suitable for use in industrial environments that are not particularly harsh. Due to the compact box design, the low-cost switches can be fitted on a standard DIN rail in a control cabinet. The XB005, XB008, XB004-1 and XB004-1LD versions have up to eight standard RJ45 ports or four RJ45 ports and a fibre-optic port.
Embedded controller
The Simatic S7-mEC embedded controller is a turnkey automation solution, integrating both HMI and a software controller. As no software has to be installed during commissioning, the device is easy to configure and program.
Operator panel
The Simatic HMI TP 177B 4" widescreen operator panel has a fully graphical 4.3" touch screen and four tactile function buttons. This screen from the 170 family of panels is notable for its compact format and a visualisation screen that is one-third larger than that of comparable devices.
Clamp-on check-metering unit
The Sitrans FUP1010 is a portable clamp-on check-metering unit, specifically designed for the water and wastewater industry to measure the performance of existing flowmeters.
Modular safety system
The Sirius 3RK3 modular safety system MSS offers an enhanced safety solution that combines the functionality of a simple safety relay and a fail-safe programmable logic controller.
Gas chromatograph
The Sitrans CV process gas chromatograph based on micro-technology rapidly and precisely determines the calorific value of natural gas. The main use of Sitrans CV is for custody transfer of natural gas.
Diode laser gas analyser
Siemens has further developed its TDL technology with the Sitrans SL diode laser gas analyser featuring an inline reference cell filled with a non-interfering reference gas allowing for a fast and non-contact measurement of gas concentrations in process or flue gases.
Vibratory level switches
The Sitrans LVL100 and LVL200 vibratory switches are suitable for high and low detection of all liquid media, independent of mounting position. The compact, user-friendly switches measure reliably in dynamic conditions, such as variations in the dielectric permittivity of a medium or the formation of vapour or bubbles.
Profinet I/O modules
Siemens has added a new interface module with CPU functionality to the Simatic ET200S product family of distributed I/O devices. The IM151-8 PN/DP CPU handles control tasks and communications functions via Profinet. The module is also available in a fail-safe version IM151-8 PN/DP F-CPU.
Industrial PC with Profinet
Siemens has equipped the main boards of its rugged industrial PC family with a Profinet interface. Designed as a 3-port switch, the interface supports isochronous real time and integrates the Siemens PC into Profinet networks.
Siemens SCADA software
Siemens has expanded the functionality of its SCADA system SIMATIC WinCC with version 7.0. The scalable SCADA system now offers compatibility with Windows Vista, easy language switching, high-performance analysis functions and an integrated MS SQL Server archive historian database as standard.
