Empowering industries through pioneering training solutions

As industries across Australia face growing demands for efficiency, safety, and innovation, investing in training has never been more critical. HYDAC is proud to lead the way with a restructured, forward-thinking training program designed to equip professionals with the skills needed to meet today’s challenges in the fluid power industry.

From foundational hydraulics knowledge to advanced system control, HYDAC’s training empowers individuals at every stage of their career.

Structured hands-on learning

HYDAC’s new training structure brings clarity and progression to professional development. The program is now built around three core courses: Basic Hydraulics 1, Intermediate Hydraulics 2, and Advanced Hydraulics 3, each offering hands-on learning and real-world relevance.

Basic Hydraulics 1 is the perfect entry point for those new to hydraulic systems or looking to refresh their fundamentals. Delivered over four days, this course covers the core components and functions of industrial and mobile hydraulic systems. Participants are guided through practical exercises and troubleshooting techniques while working toward the nationally recognised competency.

Intermediate Hydraulics 2 focuses on key topics relating to variable displacement hydraulics, operating fluids, and contamination control — critical areas often overlooked but essential to system reliability and performance. This course is ideal for engineers, maintenance teams, and supervisors, and includes topics such as component selection, filtration technology, variable displacement pumps and load-sensing systems. It also covers energy efficiency, component reliability and how this contributes to overall system performance.

Advanced Hydraulics 3 takes training to the next level by exploring the integration of electronics and diagnostics with traditional hydraulics. This year, the course introduces a major upgrade: TTControl mobile control systems. These industry-proven controllers, such as the HY-TTC 580, give participants hands-on experience with programmable ECUs, smart diagnostics, control strategies used in high-end mobile equipment and proportional electro-hydraulic systems. With growing demand for system automation, this course helps professionals future-proof their skills.

Together, these three levels form a logical training path, providing a solid base, expanding into system management, and progressing into advanced controls.

Supporting facilities and flexible delivery

HYDAC’s commitment to professional development goes beyond course content. The training facilities in Melbourne have been recently upgraded, creating a modern, hands-on environment to support deeper learning and collaboration. These new facilities complement established training centres in Perth, Sydney, and Brisbane, improving access for professionals across the country.

Each centre is equipped with HYDAC training rigs, modern tools, and digital resources to simulate real-world applications. Whether learning to build a basic circuit or programming a control unit, trainees will have the equipment and support to apply what they’ve learned straight away.

HYDAC also understands the need for flexible learning. That’s why a mix of delivery options is offered, including in-person classes, customised training at customer locations, and online training. HYDAC also continues to expand its digital offerings, including virtual reality learning modules.

Driving knowledge, performance and safety

HYDAC’s training program is about more than ticking boxes — it’s about building real capability. The courses are led by industry professionals with hands-on experience and a deep understanding of the systems and challenges faced daily. That’s what makes HYDAC’s training practical, relevant, and immediately valuable.

Whether you’re looking to improve equipment reliability, reduce maintenance costs, or adopt smarter, more automated systems, HYDAC training helps you get there. It’s a direct investment in your team’s confidence, your system’s performance, and your business’s future.

HYDAC believes training is not a one-off event: it’s an ongoing journey. And as technologies continue to evolve, HYDAC is here to make sure you’re ready.
