Trunnion and seat supported modular ball valve series X and M are classified and certified by Lloyd’s in accordance with IEC 61508, Type A equipment. The SIL assessment study with field-proven reliability analysis confirms that X and M series ball valves can be used in applications up to and including SIL 3 in single valve configurations in accordance with IEC 61508.
Metso has the launched the HART version of its Neles ValvGuard VG9000 safety valve controller. The safety-valve controller and automatic partial-stroke testing (PST) device is for both emergency shutdown (ESD) and emergency venting valves (ESV). The VG9000 is therefore now available in both HART and Foundation Fieldbus versions and can be used with both single- and double-acting actuators. The HART version supports also both safety AOs and DOs. TÃœV Rheinland has certified VG9000 as compliant with IEC61508, up to SIL3.
Metso has expanded its iCV (intelligent control valve) range to include high-pressure classes and small sizes. The Neles RotaryGlobe high-pressure range now consists of valves in ASME 900 - 1500 pressure classes in sizes from 1 to 4″.

The Neles ValvGuard VG9000F for Foundation Fieldbus is claimed to be the first TÜV-approved (SIL3) Foundation Fieldbus (FF) safety valve controller to appear on the market. It combines the benefits of FF communication with the Neles ESD valve range to provide a new level of integrity and safety.
The Neles ND9300 intelligent valve controller is manufactured in an explosion-proof stainless steel housing and is designed for use in corrosive environments.
