ABB USB disk drive replacement kit for robot controllers S4 to S4C
ABB has introduced a USB disk drive replacement kit for its robot controllers models S4 to S4C. The kit is a package upgrade solution that replaces existing and often unreliable, hard to source floppy disk drive unit, and disks with a USB connection point. The kit lets users transfer all their stored programs and data to a standard USB memory stick and also provides a connection point for a PC.
ABB WaterMaster self-verifying electromagnetic flowmeter
ABB has announced that their electromagnetic WaterMaster flowmeter, designed specifically for the water, wastewater and effluent sewage markets, now has an in-situ flowmeter verification capability. Built into the flowmeter the VeriMaster system has the ability to perform in-situ verification across the full range.
ABB Endura AZ20 combustion gas analyser
Manufactured using a ceramic-to-steel bonding process, the Endura AZ20 combustion gas analyser offers improved resistance to thermal stresses and shocks compared to a conventional brazed design. This enables it to be used in a wider range of applications subject to sudden variations in process temperature, as well as offering a gas tight bond throughout its operating temperature range.
ABB ACS 2000 air-cooled AC drive
The ACS 2000 air-cooled general-purpose AC drive is designed for reliability, easy installation and fast commissioning. The drive is specifically targeted at fan, pump, compressor and other common applications in industries such as water, cement, minerals and mining, metals, oil and gas, pulp and paper, power generation and chemical.
ABB IRB 2600 robot range
ABB has introduced the IRB 2600, which features an optimised, design that offers a high payload capacity of up to 20 kg and an ultra-wide working range. The robot is designed to be suitable for machine tending, materials handling and arc welding; as well as other process applications.
Gantry-mounted robot
ABB has launched its first robot combining the advantages of an articulated robot and a linear gantry for improved flexibility and cycle times.
Compact robot
ABB has launched its smallest ever multipurpose industrial robot, the compact and lightweight six-axis IRB 120. Available with a new compact version of the IRC5 controller, the robot weighs just 25 kg and can handle a payload of 3 kg (or 4 kg with a vertical wrist) with a reach of 580 mm.
Drives
The ACS850 drive features an in-built, energy-saving calculator, embedded Modbus and drive-to-drive link, intelligent user interface with a series of assistant wizards, integrated safety functions, modular hardware and software, and a removable memory unit.
Entry-level PLC
Designed for standalone operation in smaller industrial applications and mechanical engineering, the AC500-eCo PLC can be adapted to meet individual requirements.
Pump and fan drive
ABB has announced a low-voltage AC drive, specifically targeted at pump and fan applications ranging from 0.37 to 22 kW. Built-in PID controllers are used to vary the drive’s performance in response to changes in pressure, flow or other external data, modifying the performance according to the needs of the application. This can eliminate the need for an external PLC and helps to save energy.
Compact orifice DP flowmeters
The OriMaster compact orifice DP flowmeter is a one-piece flowmeter that comes fully factory configured and pressure tested, solving many of the problems associated with sizing, selection, installation and operation of conventional orifice plate installations.
IP55 enclosures
ABB has announced a range of IP55-rated enclosures and junction boxes. The enclosures are available in 10 sizes — with internal dimensions from 100 x 100 x 80 mm to 310 x 240 x 160 mm — and incorporate a time-saving quarter turn lid screw on some models.
Robotic bin picking
ABB has introduced robotic bin picking technology that can locate and disseminate jumbled and randomly situated materials from bins.
Lightweight robot
The IRB 4600 features a compact and lightweight design with an upper arm of aluminium and spur gears of ABB’s own design. The robot incorporates QuickMove and TrueMove, ABB’s sharp motion technology that defines precise performance and path accuracy with the shortest possible rapid cycle time.

ABB’s Extended Automation System 800xA is designed to provide a platform for unified operations to increase productivity and power reliability for process manufacturers in all industries. The combination of these systems into one yields significant savings for users in terms of costs and manpower.
WaterMaster flowmeters
The WaterMaster range of flowmeters is specifically designed for water, wastewater and sewage applications, and is available in the most commonly installed flowmeter sizes: 40-300 mm.
Drive configuration tool
The DriveConFig kit is a PC configuration tool for ABB component drives ACS55, offering fast and safe configuration of unpowered drives.
Oxygen sensor
ABB has announced that it has rounded off its product range of measuring technologies for the EasyLine series of continuous gas analysers with the addition of the zirconium dioxide sensor ZO23.
ABB Australia low-voltage AC motors
ABB Australia has launched low-voltage AC motors with improved energy efficiency and life cycle value. The motors are available from 0.06 to 95 kW while the frame size starts from 56, going all the way to 250. The range is classified into three ranges: general performance, industrial performance and process performance. Frame materials include cast iron and aluminium.
Small to midrange system controller
The AC 700F controller is designed to close the gap between generic PLCs and complex process control systems.
Hygienic flowmeters
The HygienicMaster range of flowmeters is targeted primarily at the food and beverage, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The range provides accurate measurement in hygienic applications ranging from water through to fluids with extreme viscosities, high solid concentrations or low conductivity.
Hazardous area gas analyser
The flameproof housing of the EL3060 analyser fulfils the requirements of Category II 2G and due to its high safety standards can be used in plants with potentially explosive gas atmospheres of Zone 1 and Zone 2.
Flow meter
Part of ABB’s FlowMaster family, ProcessMaster incorporates features providing users enhanced performance with reduced complexity. Available in sizes 3 to 2000 mm, the ProcessMaster range offers a wide choice of liner and electrode options, enabling it to meet the needs of demanding applications.
ABB pressure transmitters
ABB has enhanced its 364 series of differential and gauge pressure transmitters with the addition of all welded direct and remote-mounted diaphragm seals. The 364 series is designed to suit a wide range of industries, including those with aggressive or hazardous environments where performance needs to be optimised, such as those in chemicals or offshore oil and gas production.
Solar cell production robot
ABB has announced a standard compact solution for solar cell manufacturing plants — the FlexPicker-System Solar. The standardised robotic cell was specially designed for loading, unloading and handling processes in automated production lines for solar cells.
Clean room robot
ABB has upgraded its IRB 6640 robot to create a ‘clean room’ version. Working in close cooperation with strategic partners from the photovoltaic industry, the project was undertaken in response to the strict specifications for thin film production processes used in solar module manufacturing, where cleanliness is a critical factor.
Robot software
ABB has announced that it has further enhanced its IRC5 controller operating system with the latest release of RobotWare. RobotWare 5.10 adds a host of improvements aimed at delivering greater levels of control and accuracy for robot applications.
High payload robot
ABB has announced the launch of a new stronger robot, IRB 6640. This new robot is perfect for various applications within material handling, machine tending and spot welding.
Agile spot welder
The IRB 6620 is a compact spot welding robot that can be mounted floor standing, inverted and in tilted positions. The low total weight of the robot (900 kg) makes it easy to install and handle without the need for heavy-lifting cranes. The low weight also means it can be put on top of a machine.
Circular chart recorder
The C1300 advanced circular chart recorder combines established paper chart recording technology with the latest advances in electronic data collection, giving users more power to use recorded data to its full potential.
Chart recorder
A key feature of the C1300 is its two LCD graphical display panels, each capable of carrying multiple lines of text, making the C1300 particularly suitable for totalisation applications.
