512 K ethernet data radio

Trio Datacom has released a 512 Kbps version of the JR900 frequency hopping data radio for industrial ethernet communications in the 900 MHz licence-free band. The JR900 has data rates at twice the speed of the original to enable a wide variety of applications that require higher data capability than typical SCADA and telemetry systems can provide.

This development allows the JR900 to provide efficient communications to many other industrial applications such as VoIP, security monitoring, access control and safety.

The JR900 512 K ethernet radio modem provides a seamless interface with all types of security equipment and is suitable for remote monitoring of potentially vulnerable sites such as water reservoirs, oil fields, pipelines and utility substations.

For existing Trio Datacom radio systems, the JR900 512 K has a backward compatibility option (256 K) for difficult paths and is fully compatible with Trio diagnostics to allow system matching with other Trio radios.

Designed around a 1 W transmitter output power, each radio includes a wide range of features such as dual independent ethernet ports and support for legacy RS232 serial communications.

Other features include a high-throughput, low-latency repeating mode and the ability to use dual high-gain directional antennas where a single omnidirectional antenna at the repeater cannot provide the desired range.

Network management and remote diagnostics are available using an embedded HTML interface which requires no software other than a standard web browser.

All data transmitted over the J Series is encrypted and secured with 256-bit AES data encryption.
