SpeedCast to demo ReadyCONNECT TA12 at APPEA exhibition

Monday, 07 April, 2014

SpeedCast will host the first demonstration of its ReadyCONNECT TA12 solution at the APPEA Conference and Exhibition in Perth this week.

ReadyCONNECT TA12 is a mobile VSAT solution that combines portability and rapid deployment equipment, providing instant access to internet, wireless and voice applications. The solution is designed for fast temporary or long-term deployments, as well as frequent site relocations. Its simplified design enables it to be deployed on site faster than was previously possible, requires no technical knowledge and can be operated by non-technical personnel.

“Communications and logistics are the most complex challenges that today’s oil and gas companies face,” said Mark Borgas, SpeedCast’s VP of Australia-Pacific.

“Exploration teams need to communicate as if remote sites are only extensions to their corporate network and finding a solution compatible with specific network requirements, yet portable and robust enough to suit frequent site relocations, can be a difficult task. ReadyCONNECT TA12 optimises the logistics process associated with the relocation of exploration and construction sites, while cost-effectively managing bandwidth and equipment across all locations.”

ReadyCONNECT TA12 is secure and delivers scalable data speeds to meet changing usage requirements, extends wireless coverage up to 1 km and provides a variety of bandwidth options with true broadband speeds and a range of contention ratios from 1:1 to 1:10. Users have access to SpeedCast’s 24/7 support team and an online monitoring portal to ensure optimal operation.

“Setting up a traditional VSAT service can be difficult and resource-consuming when relocating - dismantling, transporting and installing equipment - and often incurs extra time and costs in the logistics chain. Having a communication solution that is quick to deploy, can be up and running in a short lead time and requires no technical staff to operate it would have a significant impact on our business and on the industry,” said Marc Russo, managing director at Australian Camp Services.

The launch of ReadyCONNECT TA12 follows the opening of SpeedCast’s new Perth office.

SpeedCast is exhibiting at the APPEA Conference and Exhibition, which runs from 6 to 9 April at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre
