Hardy Instruments has expanded the communication capabilities of the HI 3300 tension controller to include ethernet/IP. This communication will provide further integration capabilities for tension control in web and cable/strand applications. The communications list for the Tension Controller now includes analog, Modbus TCP, Allen-Bradley Remote I/O, Profibus, ControlNet, ethernet TCP/IP, DeviceNet, and OPC.

Using a load cell-based, closed loop control methodology to precisely control tension, the HI 3300 tension controller optimises the process by directly controlling a drive or braking system based on the actual direct measurement of the product tension. The controller is able to provide precision in control through the use of Hardy's Waversaver technology, which ignores surrounding vibration for accurate tension readings.

C2 electronic calibration calibrates the user's system at the touch of a button without test weights and the secure memory module (SMM) continuously backs up all instrument set-up and calibration data for security and peace of mind.
