PMC has released the Smart family of pressure and level transmitters, which can be retrofitted to their existing range of pneumatic and electronic transmitters. The transmitters are suitable for the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries.

The transmitters can be offered in the standard configuration or in the sanitary configuration, either as a blind unit or with digital indication. The sanitary unit can also be offered as a compact unit with cable for use in wet areas.

The transmitters feature a flush-mounting design which accurately measures pressures of heavy slurries, liquids and gases. The sensor is a ceramic capacitance unit capable of handling overloads of 10 times on ranges below seven bar and four times on ranges from 7 to 21 bar. The turndown of the transmitters is 10 to 1 of sensor range.

The Hart protocol allows easy manipulation of all transmitter functions such as zero and span, as well as sensor calibration and remote identification. The accuracy of the transmitters is ±0.25% of span. Wetted parts are available in 316SS, Havar, Hastelloy C or Ceramic. The transmitters are fully repairable for ease of maintenance.
