The CM servo family members are compact and lightweight servo drives. Torque ratings range from 5 to 68 Nm (which may be extended to 95 Nm by application of an optional forced cooling fan). The CM series is presented in three distinct frame sizes. These three frame sizes will be available in Australia virtually off-the-shelf in speed ratings of 3000 and 4500 rpm.

The CM servo series is provided with pre-terminated plug connector-type cables in a range of cable lengths, both for power and brake supply and servo connections. Fitted with robust 'SM' plug connectors, the pre-terminated cables ensure speedy on-site connection, installation and servicing.

The servo series is provided with a robust resolver-type position encoder as standard, or may be fitted with a precision 'Hiperface' absolute encoder as an option. A selection of electro-mechanical brakes is available, as are optional forced cooling fans, which increase the servo motor's static torque to 145% of the standard value.

An important feature of the new CM series is its direct mounting to the SEW-Eurodrive family of gearboxes. Close mechanical coupling between gear unit and servo drive ensure that the complete assembly is very short and compact, and experiences reduced backlash. The CM servo plus gearbox, coupled with the advanced SEW-Eurodrive Movidrive 'B' application inverter, provides the complete end-to-end servo solution for almost any precision positioning application.
