Programmable transducer

The eight loop-powered MCR temperature transducers from Phoenix Contact convert temperature signals from resistance thermometers, thermocouples, potentiometers, resistive encoders and from sensors with linear mV characteristic curves into analog 4-20 mA signals.

The models are grouped into four head transducers in the standardised B housing design and into transducers for DIN rail mounting in a small 12.5 mm ME housing. In addition, models are available for use in Ex areas and with the Hart protocol.

On the output side, the temperature transducers are operated in a 4-20 mA current loop that also supplies the auxiliary power needed for signal conversion.

The devices are supplied with the PT100, 0-100°C standard configuration and three wire connection technology. The MCR-PAC-T programming adapter and the MCR-PI-CONF-WIN configuration software enable custom measuring range settings, linearisations, and characteristic curve adjustments to be carried out.

The transducers feature failure information in case of broken probes or sensor short circuits, adjustable in accordance with NE 43, as well as high precision over the full atmospheric temperature range.

This means they achieve high variability, low wiring costs, and space-saving installation.
