Matthews' Identification Systems Group (IDS) has released IDSnet, a networking solution for compliant coding and labelling equipment on the production line.

IDSnet automates many aspects of coding and labelling equipment on the production floor, including centrally controlled product information and automatic equipment set-up of barcode and human-readable information on compliant labelling and/or inkjet equipment. It also allows real-time reporting on production information and equipment performances and connectivity to a communications interface module (CIM) on each production line. Each line's CIM provides connectivity for locally attached equipment to become online, with central control, including status information, for operators, with the ability to integrate inline scanners for barcode validation.

IDSnet has the ability to hand-scan work orders or primary code from CIM without returning to host PC to download new product details and is based on standard TCP/IP open architecture.

IDSnet also offers remote access support, allowing Matthews' software engineers to remotely dial in to access equipment details and provide remote support to customers at all hours.

IDSnet and IDS has the capability to integrate into existing back-end systems.
