Xycom Automation announced the release of the 3615 and 3715 families of flat panel industrial computers. Both families are compact, high-performance, all-in-one computers used for many factory automation and process applications.

These products further enhance Xycom's generation of industrial PC products that have already begun to replace the 3500 series product lines. Operator input options include touch screen, keypad with integrated industrial mouse, or a combination of all three. These units directly replace the current 3515 and 3535 offerings at a lower price.

The 3615 and 3715 come standard with a 15.0-inch XGA flat panel LCD. A Celeron 850 MHz CPU, 256 MB RAM, 20GB Hard drive, and standard CD-ROM and floppy provide more than enough power and flexibility for the most demanding factory automation applications. Optionally, these products are available with a choice of Intel® Pentium® III 1.0 and 1.26 GHz processors, and DRAM options up to 512 MB.

With onboard 10/100 Base-T Ethernet, USB port, parallel port, two serial ports, and PS/2 keyboard/mouse port, the 3612KPM is well suited for use with virtually any standard PC compatible device. The 3615 products provide expansion capabilities up to three ¾-length and one ½-length PCI and ISA cards, while the 3715 products provide capabilities up to three full-length and one ½-length PCI and ISA cards. An externally accessible Type I or II Compact Flash site or remote drive bay option is also available. All this power, connectivity, and expansion are contained in a package that is only 7.4 inches deep (6.4 inches mounting depth).

All 3615 and 3715 variations will carry the European CE mark and include UL and cUL agency approvals. This line is also approved for Class I & Class II, Division 2 Hazardous Locations. Additionally, the keypad units have front access USB and PS/2 ports, which are approved nonincendive circuits for connection within hazardous locations. Both can operate in 0°C to 50°C environments without additional cooling, and can be purchased with MS-DOS, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000 (multi-language) or Windows XP preloaded.
