Turck has introduced the Q18 proximity sensor. Similar in style to the Q25 and Q30 series of inductive sensors, these one-piece rectangular sensors measure 18 x 18 x 29 mm.

The one-piece rectangular housing offers a non-em-beddable sensing range of 5 mm designed for non-contact sensing of metal objects. These 3 wire DC, 10-30 VDC sensors feature integral cir-cuitry that protects against short-circuit, overload, wire-break and reverse polarity. They are also available with normally-open NPN (sinking) or PNP (sourcing) outputs. Designed for use in industrial environments, the Q18 sensor features a durable PBT plastic housing that allows it to oper-ate in temperatures from -25 to +70°C which is rated NEMA 1, 3, 4, 6, 13 and IEC IP67.
