Northrop Grumman Corporation has announced the G71 series incremental rotary encoder, developed by LTN Servotechnik GmbH.

The G71 series provides incremental resolutions up to 10,000 counts per turn and have a long life LED-light source, a frequency range from 0 to 300 kHz, and an operating temperature of 0 to 70°C.

Wider operating voltage includes the 24 V option with 8 to 30 VDC operating range. Output circuit configurations now include optional push-pull with short circuit protection and line driver RS422versions.

Mechanically, the G71 series have a housing diameter of 64 mm, with IP64 protection. They have shaft and hollow shaft options, where shaft diameter is from 8 to 12.6 mm and through shaft diameter is 6 to 20 mm. Heavy-duty and higher vibration capability options are made possible with larger bearings. Connector or cable output options with axial or radial outputs are also available.

Examples of industrial applications include: factory automation, motor feedback, robotics, web process control and instrumentation.
