Moxa's 2G NPort series of device servers includes two, four, eight and 16 port models for the RS232 or RS422/485 serial interfaces, and offers a wide power input range (12-30 VDC for 2-port models, 12-48 VDC for 4/8/16-port models, and 100-240 VAC for 8/16-port models.

The 2-port and 4-port RS422/485 models are also available with an optical isolation protection feature not readily available from other device server manufacturers.

One of the most useful features of the Moxa NPort 5000 series is the LCM human-machine interface, which includes the LCM display and four buttons for the 4-port NPort 5400 series and 8/16-port NPort 5600 series. Users can check and set up all configuration parameters such as IP address, netmask, and gateway address, and select the operation mode with the LCM display and buttons.

Moxa's NPort 5000 series inherits the software performance of Moxa's first generation of NPort serial device servers, and comes with a Windows utility to make installation and monitoring more efficient.
