Onset Data Loggers has released the HOBO carbon monoxide (CO) logger which monitors and records CO levels for use in identifying problems with furnaces, vehicles, water heaters, stoves, fireplaces, ventilation, air supplies, and flues.

The logger is battery operated with no external power or wiring required, making it easy to deploy for long or short term documentation of CO levels in garages, loading docks, construction sites, furnace rooms, office buildings and living areas.

The logger is complemented with the user-friendly Boxcar-Pro 4 or Boxcar 3.7 software and can also be offloaded and relaunched on-site using the optional HOBO Shuttle or HandCar software running on a Palm handheld.

With selectable sampling intervals; 0.5 s to 9 h, recording time is up to 1 year and there are three software selectable CO ranges 0 to 125, 500 and 2000 ppm with a memory capacity of 32,000 readings.

The replaceable battery has a 1 year life span under normal logging conditions and the non-volatile EEPROM memory retains data even if the battery fails.
