Balluff-Leuze has released a DeviceNet based barcode scanner, the BCL45.

Running a native DeviceNet interface built in allows one of four different modes to be run including cyclic and change of state modes. It also allows the scanner to be totally configured via the EDS file, giving the user quick and flexible access to all the scanners parameters.

Line or Raster versions are available with four different reading ranges covering up to 700 mm.

The high scanning speed of up to 1000 scans per second matches with DeviceNet's ability to transfer data quickly. Real-time calibration allows for large reading angles to be possible often greater than 45°, and poor contrasts to be read reliably.

A useful wiring module, MA15-150 allows the device to be wired very quickly.

A robust IP65 housing and a range of mounting and cabling accessories completes the package. Quick and easy set-up and operation, good reading characteristics, large depth of field, make the BCL45 series useful for industry.
