OPC board shake-up

The OPC Foundation has announced the election of Russell L Agrusa to the OPC Foundation Board of Directors. Agrusa has also been appointed the Marketing Steering Committee Chair, to lead the Foundation's efforts in marketing OPC technology and generating new members.

Russell Agrusa is the founder and CEO of Iconics, a leading software developer of web-enabled HMI/SCADA applications for industrial automation and manufacturing. He has over 25 years of experience in managing software projects and development of HMI/SCADA and control products for the Process Control and Data Acquisition industry.

The OPC Foundation also appointed James Luth as the Technical Steering Committee (TSC) Chairman leading the Foundation's technology initiatives. Jim's responsibility is to drive new technology and to quickly bring OPC specifications to the market to help promote software interoperability more widely in manufacturing and automation. Luth has served as the OPC Alarm and Events Committee Chair and has been involved with OPC since its inception.
