National Manufacturing Week and Austech to join forces with Ausplas in 2011

Friday, 12 February, 2010

Reed Exhibitions, the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Institute Limited (AMTIL) and Exhibition Management have announced that, in 2011, National Manufacturing Week (NMW) and Austech - which combine to form Australia’s only fully integrated annual manufacturing exhibition - will line up alongside the triennial Ausplas international plastics industry exhibition.

NMW showcases all major aspects of the manufacturing sector across 10 specialist product zones and is an opportunity to view, assess and buy from Australia’s most comprehensive range of the latest manufacturing products and services in one location. It also offers networking and educational opportunities, by incorporating seminars and information sessions.

Co-located with NMW, Austech is Australia’s premier advanced manufacturing and machine tool exhibition. It is the only show specifically targeted at the metalworking, machine tool and ancillary market held in Australia annually.

Ausplas is Australia’s national exhibition for the plastics processing industry. It is held only every three years with exhibitors from Australia, Europe and Asia engaged in the supply of plastics processing and ancillary equipment, raw materials and additives, new processing technologies, recycling and new areas of applications for plastics.

Reed Exhibitions describes the combined event as ‘greater than the sum of its parts’ in terms of delivering value to national and international exhibitors and visitors from all sectors of the manufacturing industry.

John Gorton, Group Exhibition Director at Reed Exhibitions, says that genesis of the co-location was the synergies between NMW - co-located with AMTIL’s Austech for the last 10 years - and Ausplas, all of which were scheduled to occur in Melbourne in 2011.

Organisers expect the combined NMW/Austech/Ausplas 2011 will help increase visitor quantity as well as persuading a greater percentage of time-poor senior managers to attend.

Reed Exhibitions and its co-organisers have booked the entire Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) for the event, from 24-27 May 2011. Space sales will commence on-site at this year’s NSW edition of NMW/Austech 2010, from 11-14 May 2010 at its new home at Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park. Demand for the available space is expected to be stronger than supply - which means exhibitors should move early to secure their preferred stand option.
