Omron's NE1A safety DeviceNet controller is claimed to be the world's first programmable safety controller with a built-in DeviceNet safety interface.
The device is designed with the flexibility for system expansion via networking.
NE1A can manage up to 16 DeviceNet safety slaves in one network to reduce wiring cost and it is certified for compliance to IEC6150 SIL3 for functional safety as well as to EN954-1 category 4 for machine safety.
