Pilz PLIDdys safe line inspection device

Saturday, 01 October, 2011 | Supplied by: Pilz Australia Industrial Automation LP

The Pilz range now includes a safe line inspection device for use on single-channel two-wire connections. The PLIDdys device ensures safe power-up and maximum safety on long cable routes of up to three kilometres.

With PLIDdys, unintended power-up or plant start-up can be prevented in the event of an error. This is particularly beneficial on interlinked plants or on plant sections distributed over a wide area, which may not always be clearly visible. The compact design means that existing plants can easily be retrofitted.

The PLIDdys safe line inspection device detects all potential wiring errors through constant line inspection. As a result, customised tests are no longer required.

The rugged design enables the device to be used in applications with increased environmental requirements, such as in temperature conditions in the range of -30 to +70°C or dusty, dirty environmental conditions - making it suitable for use on long conveyors, cable cars, distributed process lines or remote start applications.
