The Pilz PSENscan safety laser scanner now has a Profinet interface.

At its core, PSENscan provides two-dimensional area monitoring with a 275° opening angle, a protected field range of up to 5.5 m and a 40 m warning zone. Its ability to freely configure warning and protected fields means it can be tailored to suit a wide variety of structural layouts. Whether deployed for stationary guarding, mobile applications or access monitoring, PSENscan is designed to provide precise and reliable protection in demanding environments.

With Profinet connectivity, PSENscan PN can now be more easily integrated into existing automation systems. This not only simplifies wiring but also reduces commissioning time.

One of the benefits of the Profinet interface is the ability to access safety data directly from the controller. This enables rapid, real-time diagnostics, allowing operators to identify and resolve issues with minimal delay.

PSENscan PN also supports the simultaneous monitoring of up to eight protection zones, offering flexibility for complex or multi-directional applications. It also features a faster start-up time, so that systems are back online quickly after maintenance or power interruptions.

Configuration remains straightforward due to the dedicated PSENscan software tool, which allows users to easily set up all operational parameters.

PSENscan is compliant and approved in accordance with EN IEC 61496-1 (Type 3), EN ISO 13849-1 (PL d/Cat. 3) and IEC 61508 (SIL 2). It offers a reaction time of 62 ms and has IP65 protection.
