Unitronics Vision1040 PLC and integrated HMI

The Unitronics Vision1040 PLC and integrated HMI is designed to allow machine manufacturers and system integrators to add a 10.4″ colour touch screen equipped with a nine programmable function key display and full PLC functionality to their systems. It provides up to 1024 I/O options, a USB programming port, data logging, and built-in recipe capability.

The device can use 24 auto-tuned PID loops to control temperature, level and pressure, while the 16-bit, 65 K SVGA colour touch screen displays data, colour trend graphs, and alarm screens. Display options provide more than 1000 user-designed screens and up to 500 images per application.

The memory holds 2 MB of application logic, plus 1 MB for fonts and 80 MB for images. Features include MicroSD card memory storage for data logging and backup and complete PLC cloning. The controller is fast, scanning 1 K of a typical application in 9 µs, making it suitable for rapid response applications such as packaging machines.

Communication options include TCP/IP ethernet, cellular and industrial protocols such as Modbus, DF1 slave, J1939 and CANopen. In addition, it is claimed that the device can be configured to communicate via almost any device-based protocol.

It supports digital, high-speed, and analog I/O, as well as direct temperature measurement inputs via snap-in and remote I/O modules. Its VisiLogic software provides a user-friendly environment for hardware configuration, modular ladder application development and HMI design, including a library of industrial images.
