Micro PLC

Panasonic has released six add-on cassettes for the micro PLC, the FP-X.

There are now 16 I/O and communication cassette options available, the highlight being an ethernet communications cassette.

With the rise in the use of ethernet in the Australian automation environment, this introduction increases the power and flexibility of the FP-X family of PLCs.

The I/O cassette concept allows the user to configure the PLC to more efficiently fit the requirements of the project without the usual waste associated with this type of modular PLC. If the user wants to add a couple of analogs or 2–3 digital inputs, then the user just selects the cassette required.

This, along with the high-speed 32-bit RISC processor, a 16 k or 32 k step program memory and a maximum of 382 I/O points makes the FP-X a suitable choice of PLC for your next automation project.
